Escríbele a Sele, de Nigeria

En el corazón de Nigeria, niños como Sele sufren las consecuencias de la inseguridad y la intolerancia religiosa. El adolescente de 13 años perdió a su padre, Salomon, cuando sólo tenía dos años. Fue asesinado en 2011 por ser cristiano. "Sele no conoció a su padre", explica Cecilia, la madre de Sele.

Cecilia se organiza para cuidar de la plantación sin su esposo. Pero cuenta con la ayuda de Sele y de los otros niños. Para algunos de ellos, el campo que rodea la casa es lo más lejos que puede llegar su futuro, simplemente porque no hay dinero extra para sus estudios. Pero gracias a tu apoyo, Sele puede estudiar y sueña con influir en la vida de las personas.

En la clase, Sele es estudioso. Está concentrado y participa en todas las actividades con entusiasmo. "Un día, cuando crezca, voy a ser médico. Quiero salvar vidas y ayudar a la gente", dice.

Es un niño feliz y tiene una madre temerosa del Señor, parientes cariñosos, una gran comunidad y hermanos extranjeros que hacen posible que siga estudiando.

Sele dice: "Quiero dar las gracias a los hermanos que me ayudan a pagar mis gastos escolares. Que Dios los bendiga.

CONSEJOS E INSTRUCCIONES DE SEGURIDAD

Antes de escribir, lee atentamente las reglas e instrucciones de seguridad que se encuentran a continuación. Es esencial que sigas estos consejos para no poner en peligro la vida de la familia Sele.

Carta de saludos y postales son las mejores opciones. Si es posible, escriba en inglés. Incluya uno o dos versículos de la Biblia.

ORA ANTES DE ESCRIBIR

Pide a Dios que te ayude a colocar las palabras adecuadas en el papel. Puedes incluir uno o dos versículos cortos de la Biblia.

SÉ SENSIBLE

Muestra empatía mientras escribes. Asegúrate que tu carta aporta ánimo y esperanza al cristiano perseguido y a las personas de su entorno.

No destaques su difícil situación, ni los privilegios de vivir en un país libre de persecución.

SÉ BREVE Y SENCILLO

Escribe frases en inglés. Debido al volumen de correspondencia que recibimos, no podemos traducir todas las cartas que llegan.

Por esa razón, los mensajes en otro idioma (español), serán descartados (por razones de seguridad, no utilice versículos que se refieran a Israel, ejércitos o guerra).

SÉ CREATIVO

Cartas coloridas, dibujos o postales pueden decir mucho más que una carta en papel normal.

Invita a los niños de tu familia o de tu iglesia a dibujar o crear pequeñas tarjetas. Si envías más de una tarjeta, pónlas todas en el mismo sobre.

¿Qué puedes escribir?

• Antes que nada, ora y pide instrucción del Espírito Santo antes de escribir.
• Las tarjetas de felicitaciones, dibujos y las tarjetas postales llamativas son muy bienvenidas.
• Escribe en inglés.
• Sé alentador e incluye 1 o 2 versículos de la Biblia.
• Muestra sensibilidad. Por favor, no te enfoques en la difícil situación del receptor, y no compartas las bendiciones que vives en tu país.
  
  

¿Qué NO debes escribir?

• No menciones a Puertas Abiertas en tus cartas.
• Si está escribiendo una tarjeta postal, por favor envíela en un sobre y no escribas la dirección de Puertas Abiertas.
• Puedes escribir tu nombre y país, pero no tu dirección completa.
• No critiques la religión de un país o a los extremistas religiosos, su gobierno, sistema judicial o líderes políticos.
• No envíes dinero o hagas propuestas de ayuda para los niños.
• No coloques dibujos violentos que puedan dar un mensaje equivocados a los que niños.

Todos los mensajes deben ser enviados a nuestra casilla postal en Chile, y nosotros nos encargaremos que llegue a Sele y su familia.
